What it means
The base amount of a discount on the whole invoice (BT-93), the figure the discount percentage is worked out from, has more than two digits after the decimal point. Every digit after the point counts, so 250.125 fails and so does 250.100.
Why it matters
The base amount sits next to the discount amount so the recipient can follow how the discount was calculated. A base with extra decimals cannot be booked as stated, so the file fails validation and is rejected.
How to fix it
Find the base amount of the discount on the whole invoice, which is the amount the discount percentage is applied to, and round it to two decimals. The base amount is optional, so you can also remove it and keep only the discount amount. Make sure the rounding is applied to the exported file, not just to what the screen shows.
The rule as published
The allowed maximum number of decimals for the Document level allowance base amount (BT-93) is 2. Business terms: BT-93
