BR-DEC-06: Base amount of a whole-invoice charge: at most two decimals

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-DEC-06 means the base amount of a charge on the whole invoice has more than two decimals. Fix it by rounding that base amount to two decimals, or by removing it if you do not need it.

On this page

What it means

The base amount of a charge on the whole invoice (BT-100), the figure a percentage charge is worked out from, has more than two digits after the decimal point. Every digit after the point counts, so 480.125 fails and so does 480.100.

Why it matters

The base amount lets the recipient follow how the charge was calculated. With more than two decimals it cannot be booked as stated, so the file fails validation and is rejected.

How to fix it

Find the base amount of the charge on the whole invoice, which is the amount the charge percentage is applied to, and round it to two decimals. The base amount is optional, so you can also remove it and keep only the charge amount. Check that the exported file holds the rounded figure.

The rule as published

The allowed maximum number of decimals for the Document level charge base amount (BT-100) is 2.
