BR-CO-23: Each line discount needs a reason

In short

BR-CO-23 means a discount on an invoice line has no reason. Fix it on that line by adding a short reason in words, a reason code, or both.

On this page

What it means

A discount on an invoice line (BG-27) has neither a reason in words (BT-139) nor a reason code (BT-140).

Why it matters

Without a reason the recipient cannot tell why the line price was reduced.

How to fix it

On that line, add a short reason such as "Discount", a code from the UNTDID 5189 list, or both.

The rule as published

Each Invoice line allowance (BG-27) shall contain an Invoice line allowance reason (BT-139) or an Invoice line allowance reason code (BT-140), or both.

Business terms: BG-27, BT-139, BT-140
