BR-22: Line quantity is required

In short

BR-22 means the invoiced quantity (BT-129) is missing. Enter a quantity on every line, for example 1 for a single service or the number of hours or items.

On this page

What it means

Every invoice line (BG-25) must contain the invoiced quantity (BT-129). It is how many units of the item the line charges for.

Why it matters

The buyer's software books and checks every line on its own, often against the purchase order. A line without this detail cannot be matched or posted, so the whole invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Enter a quantity on every line, for example 1 for a single service or the number of hours or items. If you build the XML yourself, add cbc:InvoicedQuantity or cbc:CreditedQuantity (UBL) or ram:BilledQuantity (CII).

The rule as published

Each Invoice line (BG-25) shall have an Invoiced quantity (BT-129).
