e-SLOG 2.0 is Slovenia's national e-invoice, maintained by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS). It is XML derived from the EDIFACT INVOIC D01B message and complies with the European standard EN 16931. It is the format prescribed for invoices to public budget users, and from 1 January 2028 the default for e-invoices between Slovenian businesses. Klarbon plans to open e-SLOG invoices; this is not available yet.

Frequently asked questions
What is e-SLOG?
Slovenia's national standards for electronic business documents, maintained by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS). The e-SLOG 2.0 invoice is the most widely used e-invoice in Slovenia and the format prescribed for invoices to public budget users.
Is e-SLOG 2.0 compliant with EN 16931?
Yes. The GZS documentation says e-SLOG 2.0 complies with SIST EN 16931-1:2017 and supports all of its data, in its own XML syntax derived from EDIFACT INVOIC D01B.
When do e-invoices become mandatory between Slovenian businesses?
From 1 January 2028 under ZIERDED, the act adopted on 23 October 2025. Every business in the business register, and every self-employed person, must exchange e-invoices; a PDF is not an e-invoice.
Can I send Peppol BIS instead of e-SLOG in Slovenia?
Under ZIERDED, e-SLOG is the default. Other EN 16931 syntaxes are allowed when issuer and recipient have agreed on them, and exchange through Peppol is one of the permitted routes.
