Warning

CII-SR-364: Do not embed a logo for the payee

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-364 means the payee block holds a LogoAssociatedSpecifiedBinaryFile, an embedded logo image, which EN 16931 does not use. Delete it. A logo belongs on the printed invoice, not in the structured data.

On this page

What it means

The payee block (PayeeTradeParty) has a LogoAssociatedSpecifiedBinaryFile element, an image of the payee's logo stored inside the XML. EN 16931 has no field for logos, so the rule expects the element to be absent.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. Receivers do not read the image, and it can make the file noticeably larger, which matters if your network or the buyer's mailbox limits file size.

How to fix it

Delete the LogoAssociatedSpecifiedBinaryFile element from the payee block. If you want a logo on the invoice, put it in the PDF part of a ZUGFeRD or Factur-X file, which people see, and leave it out of the XML. If your software embeds the logo in the XML, look for a logo option in the e-invoice export and turn it off.
