What it means
The delivery party (ShipToTradeParty) is who the goods or services are delivered to, described by name, location identifier and address (BG-13). This rule checks that it has no RoleCode, a code that states which role the party plays.
Why it matters
Where the party sits in the file already tells the recipient it is the delivery party, so a role code adds nothing it can use. The invoice is not rejected, but the code is not expected to be read.
How to fix it
A role code is written by the software, not typed in by you, so there is usually no field to clear. Look in the export or format settings for the delivery details and choose the EN 16931 or XRechnung profile rather than a fuller one. If the code keeps appearing, tell the software supplier that the file has a RoleCode on the delivery party. Until then you can send the file as it is.
