Warning

CII-SR-235: Seller contact should not have a mobile phone number

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-235 means the seller's contact details include a separate mobile number, which EN 16931 does not use. It is only a warning: put the number you want the buyer to use in the normal telephone field and remove the mobile one.

On this page

What it means

In a CII file, the seller's contact (BG-6) can carry one telephone number (BT-42). This rule warns when the contact also has a MobileTelephoneUniversalCommunication element.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. EN 16931 has one phone field for the seller's contact, so the buyer's software will normally ignore the mobile number.

How to fix it

Choose the one number the buyer should use and enter it as the contact's main telephone number in your invoicing software. Clear the mobile field or stop it being exported. If you edit the XML by hand, move the number into TelephoneUniversalCommunication and delete the MobileTelephoneUniversalCommunication element.
