BR-RO-L1021: Line accounting reference must be 100 characters or fewer

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-RO-L1021 means the buyer's accounting reference on an invoice line (BT-133) is longer than 100 characters. Fix it by using only the short reference the buyer gave you, such as a cost centre or ledger code.

On this page

What it means

On each invoice line (BG-25), the buyer's accounting reference (BT-133), such as a cost centre, project or ledger account the buyer wants the cost booked to, must not be longer than 100 characters. Extra spaces at either end and repeated spaces are ignored before counting. In UBL it is the AccountingCost element, and the check applies to credit note lines too.

Why it matters

This is a Romanian rule for RO e-Factura and it is fatal. A reference over the limit makes the check fail, so the file is rejected until it is corrected.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open the line and look for a field such as accounting reference, cost centre or project code. Replace the value with the exact reference your customer gave you, and move any description or notes to the line description. Then create the e-invoice again.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Referinta contabila a Cumparatorului din linia facturii (BT-133) este 100. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Invoice line Buyer accounting reference (BT-133) is 100.

Business terms: BT-133
