What it means

The email address of the seller's contact (BT-43) must not be longer than 100 characters. Extra spaces at either end and repeated spaces are ignored before counting. In UBL it is the ElectronicMail element in the seller's contact details.

Why it matters

This is a Romanian rule for RO e-Factura and it is fatal. The check fails and the file is rejected, so the invoice is not accepted until the email field is corrected.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open your own company details and look at the contact email address. An email address over 100 characters is usually a list of several addresses or a name written around the address. Keep the one address the buyer should write to, then create the e-invoice again.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Adresa de email a contactului Vanzatorului (BT-43) este 100. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Seller contact email address (BT-43) is 100.

Business terms: BT-43
