Warning: worth checking

BR-DE-28: The seller's email address should be well formed

In short

BR-DE-28 means the seller contact's email address (BT-43) does not look like a valid address. Fix it by entering a complete address such as accounts@example.com, with no spaces.

On this page

What it means

The seller contact's email address (BT-43) in an XRechnung should contain exactly one @, with at least two characters on each side, no spaces, and no full stop directly next to the @ or at the start or end.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. It is worth fixing, because German recipients use this information to process the invoice automatically, and a portal or buyer may ask you to correct it.

How to fix it

Correct the email address in the company or sender settings of your invoicing software. Common mistakes are a missing @, two addresses in one field, a trailing full stop or a space. Enter one address only.

The rule as published
