What it means
When the invoicing framework (BT-23) is S8, B8 or M8 and the document is a corrective invoice or a credit note (type codes 384, 472, 381, 396 or 503), every invoice line (BG-25) that is a group line (line subtype GROUP, EXT-FR-FE-163) and has no parent line (EXT-FR-FE-162) must carry the number of an earlier invoice (EXT-FR-FE-136). A group line is a subtotal line that groups other lines. In the UBL file the check looks for a second billing reference on that line that points to an invoice other than this one and has an ID.
Why it matters
A corrective invoice or credit note has to be traceable to the invoice it corrects. Without the earlier invoice number on the group line, the buyer and the approved platform cannot tie the correction back to the original, and the invoice is rejected.
How to fix it
Open the group line, the subtotal line that has no parent line, and fill in the earlier invoice that it corrects. Some software labels this field 'previous invoice' or 'invoice being corrected' on the line. In the UBL file it is a second cac:BillingReference on the line, whose cac:InvoiceDocumentReference holds the earlier invoice number in cbc:ID. That number must differ from the number of this invoice. Add the date of the earlier invoice at the same time, because BR-FR-MV-14-EXT-FR-FE-138 asks for it.
