BR-FR-BD-02_BT-47: S9, B9 and M9 invoices need a GROUP line for the buyer

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-FR-BD-02_BT-47 means the invoice uses framework S9, B9 or M9 but does not have exactly one top-level GROUP line carrying the buyer's legal ID. Fix it by adding that line, or by choosing another invoicing framework if you did not mean S9, B9 or M9.

What it means

When the invoicing framework (BT-23) is S9, B9 or M9, the official text asks for exactly two invoice lines (BG-25) with subtype GROUP and no parent line. This rule checks that exactly one of those lines has a line-level seller legal ID (EXT-FR-FE-167) equal to the legal ID of the buyer of the invoice (BT-47). The buyer's ID goes in the line-level seller field of that group line. For any other framework it does not apply. The CII rule set makes the same check on the CII structure, using the line status reason code GROUP and the line seller's legal organisation ID. The seller's group line is checked by BR-FR-BD-02_BT-30 for UBL and BR-FR-BD-02_BT-31 for CII.

Why it matters

The French platform checks this structure before it passes the invoice on. If the buyer's group line is missing, appears more than once or carries a different legal ID, the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

First check the invoicing framework (BT-23) in your invoicing software, because S9, B9 and M9 are special cases and most invoices use another one; if you chose it by mistake, change it. If it is right, make sure there is exactly one top-level line with subtype GROUP, no parent line, and a line-level seller legal ID equal to the buyer's legal ID (BT-47). In UBL the GROUP marker is the status code in the line's billing reference, which carries the invoice's own number, and the legal ID is the company ID of the item's manufacturer party. If your software builds these lines itself, ask its supplier why the buyer's group line is missing or repeated.

invoiceID : …
