BR-FR-22_BT-34: Self-billed invoices need a seller address starting with the SIREN

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-FR-22_BT-34 means this self-billed B2B invoice has a seller electronic address (BT-34) that does not start with the seller's SIREN, or does not use the scheme 0225. Fix it by setting the scheme to 0225 and making the address begin with the seller's SIREN.

What it means

When a B2B invoice or credit note is self-billed, meaning the buyer issues it on behalf of the seller (document type code 389, 501, 500, 471, 473, 261 or 502), the seller's electronic address (BT-34) must start with the seller's SIREN and use the scheme 0225. The SIREN it is compared with is the seller's identifier given with the scheme 0002. Invoices that are not B2B, or whose type is not one of those codes, are not checked by this rule. The CII version of the rule checks the same thing, taking the SIREN from the seller's legal registration identifier (BT-30) and the scheme from BT-34-1.

Why it matters

In a self-billed invoice the buyer, not the seller, writes the document. The French rules therefore tie the seller's electronic address to the seller's SIREN, so the platform can be sure the invoice belongs to the right company. When the address does not match, this is a fatal error and the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Find the seller's electronic address in your invoicing software, where it may be called e-invoicing address, endpoint ID or routing address. Set its scheme to 0225 and make the value start with the seller's SIREN, the same one you give with scheme 0002. You may add characters after the SIREN, but only letters, digits, hyphen, underscore and full stop are allowed. If the address already looks right, check that the SIREN on the invoice is the seller's and has no typo.

The rule as published

Valeurs actuelles : EndpointID=" … ", schemeID=" … ", SIREN=" … ".

Where France CTC (CII) run it, the rule reads:

Si le traitement est BAR/B2B et que le type de document (BT-3) est en autofacture (389, 501, 500, 471, 473, 261, 502), alors le BT-34 (EndpointID du vendeur) doit commencer par le SIREN (BT-30) et le BT-34-1 (schemeID) doit être égal à "0225". Valeurs actuelles : EndpointID=" … ", schemeID=" … ", SIREN=" … ".

Business terms: BT-34
