In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

On this page

What it means

The invoice total without VAT (BT-109) is written with more than two digits after the decimal point. Digits are counted as written in the file, so 480.000 fails even though it equals 480. It applies to invoices and credit notes in the Romanian CIUS-RO format.

Why it matters

The total with VAT is built from the total without VAT. The Romanian CIUS-RO rules treat more than two decimals as a fatal error, so the file is rejected.

How to fix it

Set the total without VAT to the sum of the line amounts, minus the discounts on the whole invoice, plus the charges on the whole invoice, rounded to two decimals. If it comes out long, a line amount or an invoice-level discount or charge was probably not rounded, so fix those first. In the XML it is the TaxExclusiveAmount inside LegalMonetaryTotal.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de zecimale pentru Valoarea totala a facturii fara TVA (BT-109) este 2. #The allowed maximum number of decimals for the Invoice total amount without VAT (BT-109) is 2.
