BR-CO-10: Sum of line amounts must equal the lines

In short

BR-CO-10 means the sum of line net amounts on the invoice is not the total of its lines. Fix it by rounding each line to two decimals, adding the rounded lines and using that sum.

On this page

What it means

The invoice states a sum of line net amounts (BT-106) that is not exactly the total of the individual line net amounts (BT-131).

Why it matters

The recipient adds up the lines and compares. A difference of even one cent means the totals cannot be trusted, and the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Check each line's net amount and add them up again. The usual cause is rounding: round each line to two decimals first, then add the rounded lines, and use that sum. Your invoicing software should do this when it creates the file.

The rule as published

Sum of Invoice line net amount (BT-106) = Σ Invoice line net amount (BT-131).

Business terms: BT-106, BT-131
