What it means
An invoice or credit note can point to a tender or lot (BT-17) through cac:OriginatorDocumentReference, and EN 16931 uses only the identifier (cbc:ID) in it. This rule checks that there is no cbc:VersionID, which would give the version number of the referenced document.
Why it matters
This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The standard does not carry a version for the tender or lot, so the recipient has no field to store it in and normally ignores it. It is worth removing because it adds nothing and may be questioned by a stricter receiver.
How to fix it
In your invoicing software, find the tender or lot reference and clear any version or revision number stored beside it. If the version is part of the reference itself, keep it in the reference number. If you build the XML yourself, delete cbc:VersionID from cac:OriginatorDocumentReference.
