Warning

UBL-CR-075: Do not add an issuer to the receiving advice reference

In short

Warning: worth checking.

UBL-CR-075 means the invoice has an issuer party (cac:IssuerParty) inside its receiving advice reference, which EN 16931 does not use. It is only a warning, so the invoice is still accepted, but you should remove that element and export again.

What it means

This rule checks that the receiving advice reference in a UBL invoice or credit note (cac:ReceiptDocumentReference) does not contain an issuer party, which names the organisation that issued the receiving advice, with its name, address or identifiers. EN 16931 only uses the reference number inside that block (BT-15, in cbc:ID).

Why it matters

The standard has no field for the issuer of a referenced document, so the recipient's software ignores it or drops it. The seller (BG-4) and the buyer (BG-7) are the parties the recipient reads. The rule is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted.

How to fix it

Delete cac:IssuerParty from cac:ReceiptDocumentReference and export again. Check that your seller and buyer details are filled in as usual, because those are the parties that count. Clear any issuer or party details in the receiving advice section of your invoicing software.

The rule as published

A UBL invoice should not include the ReceiptDocumentReference IssuerParty
