Warning

UBL-CR-076: Do not add a verification result to the receiving advice reference

In short

Warning: worth checking.

UBL-CR-076 means the invoice has a result of verification (cac:ResultOfVerification) inside its receiving advice reference, which EN 16931 does not use. It is only a warning, so the invoice is still accepted, but you should remove that element and export again.

What it means

This rule checks that the receiving advice reference in a UBL invoice or credit note (cac:ReceiptDocumentReference) does not contain a result of verification, which records the outcome of checking the referenced document, for example who verified it and when. EN 16931 only uses the reference number inside that block (BT-15, in cbc:ID).

Why it matters

The standard has no field for the outcome of a check on a referenced document, so the recipient's software ignores it or drops it. The recipient does its own checks on the invoice and does not rely on yours. The rule is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted.

How to fix it

Delete cac:ResultOfVerification from cac:ReceiptDocumentReference and export again. You will rarely find this in the screens of normal invoicing software, so it usually comes from a custom export or an integration. Ask whoever maintains it to stop writing the element.

The rule as published

A UBL invoice should not include the ReceiptDocumentReference ResultOfVerification
