Warning

CII-SR-247: Do not use the seller's end point address element

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-247 means the seller has an EndPointURIUniversalCommunication element, which EN 16931 does not use. Put the seller's electronic address in the standard URIUniversalCommunication element and remove this one. It is only a warning, so the file is still accepted.

On this page

What it means

The seller must not have an EndPointURIUniversalCommunication element. The seller's electronic address (BT-34), such as a Peppol ID, is carried in a different and similarly named element, URIUniversalCommunication. Only the unused element is flagged. The same restriction applies in the CII rules for XRechnung, NLCIUS and the French CTC rules.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. If your address is only in the unused element, the recipient's software reads the standard element and will not see it. Fix it if you rely on that address for delivery, or if you want a file with no warnings.

How to fix it

Open your company settings in the invoicing software and find the field for your electronic address or Peppol ID. Check that it is filled in there, and switch off any option that adds a second end point address. If you edit the XML yourself, move the value into URIUniversalCommunication, inside its URIID element with the scheme identifier, and delete EndPointURIUniversalCommunication.

The rule as published
