Warning

CII-SR-192: Line discounts and charges must not carry a currency exchange

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-192 means a discount or charge on an invoice line contains an ActualTradeCurrencyExchange element, which EN 16931 does not use there. It is a warning only: delete the element and state the amount in the invoice currency.

On this page

What it means

Each discount (BG-27) or charge (BG-28) on an invoice line is checked for an ActualTradeCurrencyExchange element, which gives an exchange rate between two currencies. In EN 16931 every amount on a line, including its discounts and charges, is in the invoice currency (BT-5).

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The recipient ignores the exchange details and reads the amount as it stands. If the amount was meant to be converted using this rate, the conversion will not happen, so the figure must already be correct.

How to fix it

Delete the ActualTradeCurrencyExchange from the line's SpecifiedTradeAllowanceCharge in the XML. Convert the discount or charge to the invoice currency yourself and enter the converted amount. If the file comes from invoicing software, check its currency settings or ask the vendor.
