Warning

CII-SR-190: Line discounts and charges must not carry a type code

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-190 means a discount or charge on an invoice line contains a TypeCode element, which EN 16931 does not use there. It is a warning only: delete the element and rely on the charge indicator and the reason instead.

On this page

What it means

Each discount (BG-27) or charge (BG-28) on an invoice line is checked for a TypeCode element, a code classifying the kind of entry. In EN 16931 the charge indicator already says whether the entry is a discount or a charge, and the reason code (UNTDID 5189 for discounts, UNTDID 7161 for charges) or the reason text says why.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The recipient ignores the type code, so it explains nothing to the buyer. It is worth fixing for a clean check result, and so the explanation travels in a field that is actually read.

How to fix it

Delete the TypeCode from the line's SpecifiedTradeAllowanceCharge in the XML. Check that the charge indicator is right, false for a discount and true for a charge. If you want to say why the entry is there, add a reason in words or a reason code from the lists above.
