Warning

CII-SR-188: Line discounts and charges must not carry a prepaid indicator

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-188 means a discount or charge on an invoice line contains a PrepaidIndicator element, which EN 16931 does not use there. It is a warning only: delete the element and show any advance payment in the invoice totals instead.

On this page

What it means

Each discount (BG-27) or charge (BG-28) on an invoice line is checked for a PrepaidIndicator element, a yes or no flag saying the amount was paid in advance. EN 16931 has no such flag on a line discount or charge.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The flag is ignored, so it does not reduce what the buyer owes. Advance payments are handled in the invoice totals, where the paid amount (BT-113) is taken off to give the amount due.

How to fix it

Delete the PrepaidIndicator from the line's SpecifiedTradeAllowanceCharge. If the buyer has already paid part of the invoice, enter that in the paid amount in the invoice totals so the amount due is right. Check the amount due again after the change.
