Warning

CII-SR-186: Line discount percentages must not have a format attribute

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-186 means the percentage of a discount or charge on an invoice line has a format attribute, which EN 16931 does not allow there. It is a warning only: remove the attribute and keep the percentage itself.

On this page

What it means

The percentage (CalculationPercent) of each discount (BG-27) or charge (BG-28) on an invoice line is checked for a format attribute. In EN 16931 that percentage is a plain number, with no attribute describing how it is written.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. Software that follows EN 16931 reads the number and ignores the attribute, so the figures are not affected. It is worth removing to get a clean check result, but it does not need to hold up sending the invoice.

How to fix it

In the XML, find the CalculationPercent inside the line's SpecifiedTradeAllowanceCharge and delete the format attribute from it. Leave the number in place. If invoicing software produces the file, ask the vendor to stop adding the attribute.
