What it means
When the amount due for payment (BT-115) is above zero, the invoice must contain payment instructions (BG-16) that say how the buyer is to pay. If the amount due is zero or negative, nothing is needed.
Why it matters
The buyer needs to know how to pay you. Without payment instructions the file fails the Dutch check and the invoice is rejected.
How to fix it
In your invoicing software, add your bank details (IBAN and, if asked, BIC) to your company or invoice settings. Choose bank transfer as the payment method on the invoice. The codes the Dutch rules accept are listed under BR-NL-12.
The rule as published
For suppliers in the Netherlands, the supplier MUST provide a means of payment (cac:PaymentMeans) if the payment is from customer to supplier Where this rule applies
