What it means
A charge on an invoice line (BG-28) must have a reason in words (BT-144) or a reason code (BT-145). The specification also lists a line-level non-VAT tax type code (BT-193), but the check itself only looks for the reason or the reason code, so give at least one of those.
Why it matters
Without a reason the recipient cannot tell why the line costs more than the quantity times the unit price. The invoice is rejected.
How to fix it
Open the line and find the charge added to it, such as a handling or packaging fee. Add a short reason in words, a code from the UNTDID 7161 list, or both. Either one is enough.
The rule as published
