BR-43: Amount of a line charge is required

In short

BR-43 means the amount of the charge (BT-141) is missing. Enter an amount for every charge in your invoicing software, or remove charges you do not use.

On this page

What it means

Every charge on an invoice line (BG-28) must contain the amount of the charge (BT-141). It is the amount of the charge without VAT.

Why it matters

Discounts and charges change the amount VAT is calculated on. The recipient needs the amount, the VAT category and the reason to book them correctly and to check that the VAT adds up.

How to fix it

Enter an amount for every charge in your invoicing software, or remove charges you do not use. An empty charge row, often left over from a template, triggers this rule.

The rule as published

Each Invoice line charge (BG-28) shall have an Invoice line charge amount (BT-141).

Business terms: BG-28, BT-141
