What it means
An invoice note (BG-1) has a subject code (BT-21) and a text (BT-22). Notes with subject code BAR carry one of these texts: B2B, B2BINT, B2C, B2CINT, OUTOFSCOPE or ARCHIVEONLY. The rule counts those notes across the whole document and allows one at most, so two BAR notes fail even when they say the same thing. The CII rule set has its own rule for this, BR-FR-31_BT-21, with the list B2B, B2BINT, B2C, OUTOFSCOPE and ARCHIVEONLY.
Why it matters
The category in the BAR note tells the platform what kind of invoice it is dealing with. With two categories it cannot tell which one you mean, so it rejects the invoice.
How to fix it
Open the notes of the invoice in your software and look for those with the subject BAR. Keep the one that fits the sale and delete the others. If you did not mean to set a category at all, remove the BAR note.
The rule as published
Business terms: BT-21, BT-22
