BR-DEC-RO-23: Invoice line amount: two decimals at most

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-DEC-RO-23 means the net amount of an invoice line (BT-131) has more than two decimals. Fix it on that line by rounding the line amount to two decimals.

On this page

What it means

The net amount of an invoice line (BT-131), the line total without VAT after any discount or charge on that line, is written with more than two digits after the decimal point. Digits are counted as written in the file, so 19.990 fails even though it equals 19.99. The rule looks only at this line total, not at the unit price or the quantity. It covers invoice lines and credit note lines.

Why it matters

Line amounts add up to the sum of the lines and then to every other total. The Romanian CIUS-RO rules count more than two decimals on a line as a fatal error, so the file is rejected.

How to fix it

On the line named in the error, round the line amount to two decimals. A common cause is a unit price with several decimals multiplied by the quantity, for example 0.3333 times 3 gives 0.9999. The price and quantity are not checked by this rule, but the line total must be rounded. In the XML it is the LineExtensionAmount of the InvoiceLine, or of the CreditNoteLine in a credit note, and the sum of the lines (BT-106) should then use the rounded amounts.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de zecimale pentru Valoarea neta a liniei facturii (BT-131) este 2. #The allowed maximum number of decimals for the Invoice line net amount (BT-131) is 2.
