What it means
Every invoice must contain the seller contact (BG-6). XRechnung requires a contact person or department at the seller, with a phone number and an email address, so the buyer knows whom to ask about the invoice.
Why it matters
XRechnung, the German standard for e-invoices, requires this on top of EN 16931. Public bodies in Germany and their invoice portals (ZRE, OZG-RE and the state portals) reject an XRechnung that fails this rule, and many German businesses check incoming invoices the same way.
How to fix it
Fill in a contact in the company or sender settings of your invoicing software: a name or department, a phone number and an email address. A general contact such as "Accounts" with your switchboard number and accounts email is fine.
The rule as published
Die Gruppe "SELLER CONTACT" (BG-6) muss übermittelt werden. Business terms: BG-6
