BR-CL-25: Electronic address schemes must come from the EAS list

In short

BR-CL-25 means the scheme of an electronic address (BT-34-1 or BT-49-1) is not in the EAS code list. Check the type of each electronic address on your company and customer records and use the EAS code, not a name such as "GLN" or "email".

On this page

What it means

The scheme of the seller's and buyer's electronic addresses must be a code from the European Electronic Address Scheme (EAS) list, for example 0088 GLN, 0106 Dutch KvK number, 0208 Belgian company number, 0204 German Leitweg-ID, 9930 German VAT number, 0009 French SIRET or EM for an email address.

Why it matters

Codes are read by software, not by people. A value outside the agreed code list cannot be interpreted, so the recipient's system rejects the invoice even when the value looks sensible to a person.

How to fix it

Check the type of each electronic address on your company and customer records and use the EAS code, not a name such as "GLN" or "email". If you build the XML yourself, it is the schemeID of cbc:EndpointID (UBL) or of ram:URIID (CII). Ask your customer for their electronic address and scheme if you are not sure.

The rule as published
