Warning

UBL-CR-167: The seller's address should not include map coordinates

In short

Warning: worth checking.

UBL-CR-167 means the seller's postal address contains location coordinates (cac:LocationCoordinate), which EN 16931 does not use. Remove the element and describe the address with the normal address fields.

On this page

What it means

UBL lets an address carry a latitude and a longitude. EN 16931 has no field for map coordinates. The seller's address (BG-5) is described with street, city, post code, country subdivision and country code. This rule fails whenever cac:LocationCoordinate is present in that address.

Why it matters

This rule is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. The recipient's software does not read coordinates and ignores them. It is worth fixing when a program adds them automatically, so that the file only holds what the standard defines.

How to fix it

Coordinates are almost always added by the software, not typed by you. Check the export settings for a map or geolocation option and switch it off. If you build the XML yourself, delete cac:LocationCoordinate from cac:AccountingSupplierParty/cac:Party/cac:PostalAddress and make sure the street, city, post code and country code are filled in.

The rule as published

A UBL invoice should not include the AccountingSupplierParty Party PostalAddress LocationCoordinate
