DE-R-003: The seller city is required between German parties

In short

DE-R-003 means the seller's address has no city, which is required when the seller and the buyer are both in Germany. Fix it by entering the city in your company address.

On this page

What it means

When the seller and the buyer are both in Germany, the seller's address must include the city (BT-37). A field that is empty or holds only spaces counts as missing.

Why it matters

The address is part of identifying who issued the invoice. Without the city the address is incomplete and the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open your company details and check the city field in your address. Enter the city in its own field, separate from the post code, then save and export the invoice again. If the invoice takes the address from a template or an old saved copy, update that too.
