Warning

CII-SR-420: Leave out NetIncludingTaxesLineTotalAmount from the totals

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-420 means the invoice totals contain a NetIncludingTaxesLineTotalAmount element, which EN 16931 does not use. It is a warning, so the file is still accepted; remove the element and keep the normal totals.

What it means

The block of invoice totals (SpecifiedTradeSettlementHeaderMonetarySummation) must not contain NetIncludingTaxesLineTotalAmount, a separate total of the lines including taxes. EN 16931 has its own totals for the invoice including VAT (BT-112) and the amount due (BT-115).

Why it matters

This rule is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The figure is outside the standard, so the recipient's software is not expected to read it. The totals the recipient does read are the ones EN 16931 defines.

How to fix it

Delete NetIncludingTaxesLineTotalAmount from the totals block. Keep the total including VAT (BT-112) and the amount due (BT-115), which are separate elements and are the ones the recipient reads. If your software adds this figure by itself, choose the EN 16931 option in its e-invoice export settings or ask the supplier to stop writing it.
