Warning

CII-SR-419: Leave out NetLineTotalAmount from the totals

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-419 means the invoice totals contain a NetLineTotalAmount element, which EN 16931 does not use. It is a warning, so the file is still accepted; remove it and make sure LineTotalAmount holds the sum of the lines.

On this page

What it means

The block of invoice totals (SpecifiedTradeSettlementHeaderMonetarySummation) must not contain NetLineTotalAmount, a separate net total of the lines. Its name is close to LineTotalAmount, the element EN 16931 does use for the sum of the line amounts excluding VAT (BT-106).

Why it matters

This rule is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The recipient's software is not expected to read NetLineTotalAmount. If it stands in the file instead of LineTotalAmount, the sum of the lines (BT-106) is missing and other rules will fail as well.

How to fix it

Delete NetLineTotalAmount from the totals block. Check that LineTotalAmount is present, because the sum of the line amounts (BT-106) is required and NetLineTotalAmount cannot stand in for it. If your software adds both, choose the EN 16931 option in its e-invoice export settings or ask the supplier to fix the output.
