Warning

CII-DT-067: Leave the applicable trade location out of the VAT details

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-DT-067 means a VAT section of your CII file contains a place or trade location linked to the tax (the element PlaceApplicableTradeLocation), which EN 16931 does not use. It is only a warning, so the file is still accepted, but you can remove the element to get a clean file.

What it means

VAT in a CII file sits in elements whose names end in TradeTax. This rule checks that none of them holds a PlaceApplicableTradeLocation element, a place or location tied to the VAT. EN 16931 has no field for it in the VAT details.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the invoice is not rejected. The standard has no place for a location inside the VAT details, so the recipient's software will normally ignore it and the buyer never sees it. It is worth fixing when a recipient or platform shows warnings, or when the place was meant to be read.

How to fix it

Check the e-invoice export settings of your invoicing software and choose the standard EN 16931 output rather than a fuller profile. If you build the XML yourself, delete the PlaceApplicableTradeLocation element from every TradeTax block. If a place matters to the buyer, such as where the goods were delivered, give it in the delivery details (BG-13) of the invoice instead.
