BR-RO-A500: An invoice can refer to at most 500 earlier invoices

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-RO-A500 means the invoice or credit note refers to more than 500 preceding invoices (BG-3), which is the most the Romanian rules allow. Fix it by splitting the document so that each part refers to 500 earlier invoices or fewer.

What it means

The invoice may contain no more than 500 preceding invoice references (BG-3). Each reference points to an earlier invoice by its invoice number (BT-25) and, if given, its date (BT-26). A credit note uses them to say which invoices it corrects. The published test looks at each reference one at a time, so it does not add them up the way the description does. The limit the rule describes is still 500 for the whole document.

Why it matters

The Romanian national rules for e-Factura cap the number of earlier invoices one document can refer to. A document that goes over the limit is rejected.

How to fix it

Only documents that bundle many earlier invoices, such as a monthly summary credit note, come near 500 references. Check whether all of those references are needed. If they are, split the document into several, each referring to at most 500 earlier invoices, or agree with the buyer to list the rest in an attachment.

The rule as published

O factura trebuie sa contina maximum 500 de aparitii ale grupului Referinta la o factura anterioara (BG-3). #The allowed maximum number of occurences of Preceding invoice reference (BG-3) is 500.

Business terms: BG-3
