BR-CO-12: Sum of invoice charges must equal the charges

In short

BR-CO-12 means the total of charges on the whole invoice is not the sum of the charges listed. Fix it by adding up the invoice-level charges and using exactly that figure.

On this page

What it means

The invoice states a total of charges on the whole invoice (BT-108), such as freight or packing, that is not the sum of the individual invoice-level charges (BT-99).

Why it matters

The net total is calculated from this sum. If it does not match the charges listed, the totals do not add up and the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Add up the amounts of all charges on the whole invoice (not those on single lines) and use exactly that figure as the total of charges.

The rule as published

Sum of charges on document level (BT-108) = Σ Document level charge amount (BT-99).

Business terms: BT-99, BT-108
