What it means
Every invoice must contain the name of the seller's tax representative (BT-62) when the seller has a tax representative (BG-11). A tax representative handles VAT for a seller that is not established in the buyer's country.
Why it matters
VAT law requires an invoice to identify both parties, and the recipient's software uses these details to match the invoice to a supplier or customer. An invoice that fails this rule is rejected as incomplete.
How to fix it
If you use a tax representative, enter their full name in the tax representative section of your invoicing software. If you do not have one, remove the tax representative section altogether.
The rule as published
The Seller tax representative name (BT-62) shall be provided in the Invoice, if the Seller (BG-4) has a Seller tax representative party (BG-11) Business terms: BG-4, BG-11, BT-62
