PDF bank statement conversion to MT940 is not available yet
PDF bank statement reading is not available yet. Use a supported structured bank export to create MT940, with a free preview.
In short
Turn a structured bank statement into Excel, CSV, CAMT.053, MT940 or OFX. Reading PDF statements is not available yet. Free preview, then 1 credit (€4.99).
How to convert a bank statement
- Drop a structured bank statement file, such as CAMT.053 or MT940.
- Check the preview: compare the balance difference and transactions against the original statement.
- Choose the output format and download it, for one credit per 500 transactions.
PDF bank statement reading is not available yet in Klarbon. That includes ordinary and scanned PDFs, so you cannot upload a PDF and have its transactions extracted into MT940. If your bank offers a supported structured export, such as CAMT.053 or MT940, use that instead.
What can I use instead of a PDF?
- Export a structured bank file for the period you need. Klarbon reads supported CAMT.053 and MT940 files; other formats are in beta.
- Choose the file in the bank tool. If a required detail is missing or a two-digit year is ambiguous, answer the question shown.
- Review the free preview. It includes the account, period, balances, total transaction count and the first five transactions, not every row.
- Check the output requirements. Klarbon writes MT940. Confirm that your software accepts that format and version; a matching extension alone is not enough.
- Unlock the result for one credit per started 500 transactions, then download the output you need.
Klarbon makes a file; it does not import transactions into your accounting software or send anything to your bank. See supported bank statement files.
What does the balance check prove?
Klarbon compares the opening balance plus signed transactions with the closing balance and shows the difference. A zero difference does not establish that each transaction is correct: opposite errors can cancel out, and dates, descriptions and counterparties need separate review. The preview exposes a non-zero difference, and the output writers refuse unreconciled statements. A matching balance still does not prove that every entry is correct.
Where a supported input lacks a balance, Klarbon can derive it from the available data or ask you for an opening balance. The preview marks derived or confirmed balances. Check these against your bank's records before using the output.
How much does it cost?
The preview is free. Converting a supported structured bank file costs one credit per started 500 transactions. One credit is EUR 4.99, ten are EUR 29 and fifty are EUR 99. Bought credits do not expire; monthly plan credits do not roll over. See prices.
What happens to my statement?
Klarbon processes supported bank files on its servers for your request. The result is returned to your browser encrypted until you unlock it. Klarbon creates no document archive. See what happens to your files.

What does the free preview show?
For a supported structured bank file, the preview shows the account, period, balances, total transaction count and the first five transactions. It is not the full statement.
Does a matching balance prove every transaction is correct?
No. The balance difference is an arithmetic check. Opposite errors can cancel out, and a wrong date, description or counterparty can leave the total unchanged. Compare with the original.
