Open a Spanish Facturae invoice

Open a Spanish Facturae invoice in your browser and read it as a clear document. Reading only: no check, conversion or submission to FACe or the AEAT.

In short

See supported XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, Factur-X, Peppol, UBL and CII files as clear invoices, and save them as PDFs. Free, and the file stays on your device. Free.

The Klarbon Facturae viewer opens a Spanish Facturae invoice in your browser: drop the .xml or .xsig file and it appears with seller, buyer, lines, VAT, withholdings and totals. It is free, unlimited, needs no account and the file never leaves your device. Reading is in beta. This viewer does not check the invoice, convert it or send it to FACe or the Spanish Tax Agency.

What is a Facturae file?

Facturae is Spain's XML e-invoice format, the one used for invoices to Spanish public administrations. Klarbon reads Facturae 3.2.2 in beta. Facturae uses XML and can carry an XAdES electronic signature (European Commission); the viewer reads supported .xml and .xsig files but does not verify that signature.

Double-clicking the file usually shows tags such as <SellerParty> and <TaxesOutputs>. That is normal: the file is meant for software. More on the format in what is Facturae.

How do I open a Facturae invoice?

  1. Choose or drop the .xml or .xsig file.
  2. Klarbon recognises Facturae from its content, not its extension.
  3. The invoice appears with the format's own terms, shown in Spanish as the format defines them: document type (full, simplified or self-billed invoice), class (original or corrective), series and number, seller and buyer with their NIF tax numbers, each line, the taxes charged, income tax (IRPF) withheld, the total and the payment method.
  4. For a corrective invoice you also see the number of the invoice it corrects and the reason.
  5. Print it or save it as a PDF.

A synthetic example: an invoice from "Reformas Ebro, S.L." to a town council for EUR 1,210.00 opens with two lines, 21% VAT of EUR 210.00 and a bank transfer to the seller's IBAN.

Each file shows one invoice. If the file is a batch of several invoices, the viewer shows the first.

What does the viewer not do?

It opens and reads the file, nothing more:

To submit an invoice to a Spanish public body, follow the invoicing and submission workflow that customer specifies. A readable copy from this viewer is not proof of submission or acceptance.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in any modern browser on iPhone, iPad, Android and desktop. On an iPhone, pick the file from Files or Mail. On Android you can install Klarbon from the browser and share an attachment straight to it.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The viewer reads the invoice inside your browser, so it stays on your device while you read, print or save it. Other Klarbon tools send the file to Klarbon's servers and delete it after the request. See what happens to your files.

How do I save it as a PDF?

Open the invoice and choose Print, then Save as PDF. The PDF is a readable copy for your records, your accountant or a payment approval. It is not an e-invoice: keep the original XML, which is the invoice itself. More in save an invoice as a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How can I open a Facturae invoice without installing software?

Drop the .xml or .xsig file on the Klarbon viewer in any modern browser. It shows the invoice as a readable document, with seller, buyer, lines, taxes, withholdings and totals. You do not need an account.

Does the viewer check that the invoice is valid?

No. It opens and displays the file only. This viewer does not run the Facturae schema or FACe's rules, and it does not check the electronic signature.

Can I send the invoice to FACe from Klarbon?

No. Klarbon does not submit invoices to FACe, to any other public entry point or to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT). Use the invoicing and submission workflow your public-sector customer specifies.

Is it free?

Yes. Opening, printing and saving a readable PDF is free and unlimited, with no account.

Does my invoice leave my device?

No. The file is read inside your browser and is not uploaded to Klarbon or anyone else while you view or print it.

What about the XAdES signature?

The invoice opens even when it is signed, and the signature stays untouched in your file. Klarbon does not verify or validate it, so the viewer cannot tell you whether it is correct.
