BR-CO-06: Charge reason code and text must match

In short

BR-CO-06 means the reason code and the reason text of an invoice charge describe different things. Fix it by making the text match the code, or removing the one that is wrong.

On this page

What it means

A charge on the whole invoice, such as freight or packing, has both a reason code (BT-105) and a reason in words (BT-104), and they describe different kinds of charge.

Why it matters

The recipient books the charge by its code. A text that contradicts it makes the charge unclear and the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Make the reason text describe the same charge as the code (for example code FC with the text "Freight"), or remove the one that is wrong.

The rule as published

Document level charge reason code (BT-105) and Document level charge reason (BT-104) shall indicate the same type of charge.

Business terms: BT-104, BT-105
