BR-30: A line period cannot end before it starts

In short

BR-30 means an invoice line's period ends (BT-135) before it starts (BT-134). Fix it by correcting the line's dates so the end date is the same as or later than the start date.

On this page

What it means

When an invoice line gives both a start date (BT-134) and an end date (BT-135) for its period, the end date must be on or after the start date.

Why it matters

A line period says when that particular item was supplied, for example the month a subscription covers. A period that ends before it starts is impossible, so the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Open the line with the wrong period, usually a subscription, rental or service line, and swap or correct its dates. If you build the XML yourself, the dates are in the line's cac:InvoicePeriod (UBL) or ram:BillingSpecifiedPeriod (CII).

The rule as published

If both Invoice line period start date (BT-134) and Invoice line period end date (BT-135) are given then the Invoice line period end date (BT-135) shall be later or equal to the Invoice line period start date (BT-134).

Business terms: BT-134, BT-135
